HOW TO GET TO FORMENTERA:

Whether you fly by plane or by boat, your first destination will always be Ibiza. Once you arrive at the Ibiza airport you will have to go to the port and take the first available ferry. The service is offered by various companies, Balearia, Trasmapi, etc.

The duration of the trip will be 30min if you choose the fast boat (for seasickness people I suggest the slow one) and a 1 hour for larger ships that also carry cars.

The price of the trip depends on how much advance you buy the ticket and which ship you choose, usually, the fast ship (30min) costs more. Average return price from € 35 / € 40. By boat departing from Menorca or Mallorca is possible too, ferries are more frequent with an approximate duration of 2/3h.

HOW TO MOVE IN THE ISLAND:

Normally it is better to hire a scooter instead of a car because a lot of parking are small, the roads are often narrow and the island is small (19km long). It is not necessary to rent the scooter in advance, the island is full of rental.

If you are 5 people rent a car is a better idea, but if you have got the ticket for August / September I recommend you book as soon as possible, there are not many car rentals available on the island.

WHERE TO SLEEP:

I advise you to book as soon as possible, or you will find a place just outside the city center. My advice is to sleep in Es Pujols, there are supermarkets, restaurants, nightclubs and it is 10min from the port.

3 DAYS IN FORMENTERA:

Playa de Illetas
Cala Saona
Caló des Mort
Playa Levante
Cala en Baster
Es Calò beach
Faro de Formentera
Tower of the Cap de Barbaria

WHERE TO EAT / NIGHTLIFE:

In the center of Es Pujols you will certainly find many restaurants and for all tastes, but I recommend two: for Integral vegetarians while for fish lovers like me the Casanita Cantina y Pescado, very good.

TIPS TIME !! If you really want to experience the Formentera experience, stop by the beach in one of the chiringuito with music and have an aperitif.

The nightlife of Formentera starts in mid-May and ends in mid-October, if you don’t want to move from Es Pujols there are some discos like Pachanka. While if you choose to take the car you can go to the Club Tipic, or the very famous Blue bar.

I hope I have not forgotten anything. If you have any doubts or comments, please write to me. Which is your next destination? Ibiza o Menorca? Hasta luegooo viajeros…
