Begur and Costa Brava

The Costa Brava is one of the most beautiful and wild places in Catalonia, and today we visit the coast of Begur. Very close to medieval towns like Pals or Peratallada perfect for half a day. This country is characterized by its tranquility and relaxation that distinguishes them, perfect for families and couples with breathtaking sea view hotels.

HOW TO GET TO BEGUR

From Barcelona on the AP-7 motorway to exit 9 in Vidreres, direction Sant Feliu de Guixols, Platja d’Aro, Palamós, Palafrugell. Take the Palafrugell Norte / Begur exit and at the roundabout towards Regencós / Begur.

From France on the A-9 motorway and entering Spain on the AP-7 motorway until exit 6 in Girona towards Palamós. By sea you can reach the Aigua Blava Hotel and dock at the Aiguablava Marina.

PALAMOS -> BEGUR 16km
CALELLA DE PALAFRUGELL -> BEGUR 10km
TOSSA DE MAR -> BEGUR 57km
BLANES -> BEGUR 70km
CADAQUES -> BEGUR 72km

WHERE TO EAT

The spectacular view of the bay of Begur from the restaurant of the Aigua Blava Hotel allows you to enjoy the view while enriching the palate. Guests can enjoy a full breakfast, a snack, a light lunch under a parasol, a romantic outdoor dinner, a family gathering, a meeting to hold a presentation or banquet.

If you want to try Catalan cuisine in Begur you will find many restaurants at good prices, I recommend the Casa Juanita restaurant in the center.

WHERE TO SLEEP

For this weekend I chose the Aigua Blava hotel which is 20min from Begur. On the coast and 100m from Cala Fornell and the Playa de Aigua Blava. A little uncomfortable if you want to move during the day, but an oasis of peace if you want to rest and relax with the sound of the sea. Price per night starting from 250 with breakfast.

The swimming pool is open from 11am to 8pm. At your check-in, you will be given towels, which will then give you back to check out. Check-in available at 3pm and check out at 12pm. Would you like to know more?

BEACHES

The beaches surrounding this area are many but small, if you want to walk from the hotel I recommend the Cala Fornells which is 100m away. Other beaches in the area are Cala Aiguablava or Platja Fonda, easy to park close to the beach. Playa Illa Roja is a nudist beach, is a very beautiful beach. If you are looking for Es Cau beach, a swimming pool on the coast, know that it is closed and not accessible.

Are you looking for more spacious beaches or restaurants and shops? Calella de Palafrugell or Tossa de Mar are great options.

AROUND BEGUR

Catalonia is a region full of resources and scenery, from mountains to virgin beaches, from large cities to medieval cities. Today we will leave for the Catalan medieval tour in 3 days. A tour departing from Girona and ending in Figueras. I love this region very much, it has been my home for 7 years and I think there are few regions in the world that are so complete in every respect.

Between Girona and Begur there are Peratallada and Pals, two small very beautiful medieval villages. To visit them for 3 hours is enough. Once visited Pals, the next stop is Peratallada, another medieval town. It has been declared a Historic-Artistic Site because it is one of the most important and best-preserved centers of medieval architecture in Catalonia. It preserves a great harmony in its rural architecture, through its narrow and winding streets, as well as the numerous arches and passages.
