Skyway Monte Bianco is a cable car in the Alps, linking the Italian town of Courmayeur with Pointe Helbronner on the southern side of the Mont Blanc massif. Taking over three years to construct, it opened in 2015, and is considered to be the world’s most expensive cable car installation. An expensive attraction, yes, but it worth 100%, especially in autumn.

SKYWAY MONTE BIANCO
Immersed in a breathtaking landscape that elevates one’s senses to new heights, Skyway Monte Bianco covers three futuristic stations that offer restaurants, bars, cultural and entertaining services.
The system was inaugurated in 2015 and today includes 3 stations: Courmayeur/The Valley (1,300 m), Pavillon/The Mountain (2,173 m) and Punta Helbronner/The Sky (3,466 m). The cabins rotate 360 degrees along the way, giving those present a full view of the surrounding peaks, so don’t’ worry if there are many people, your turn is coming.
The departure point of the cable car is Pontal – Courmayeur (1,300 m), where the ticket office, parking facilities, and a small coffee shop are located. The second stop is at Pavillon du Mont Fréty (2,200 m), which hosts the winery Cave Mont Blanc, a conference room for up to 150 people and a special shopping area.
Punta Helbronner is the main attraction of the installation: the 14-meter circular panoramic terrace that offers the extraordinary 360-degree view of a good part of the 4,000 western Alps: Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa, Matterhorn, Gran Paradiso, and the Grand Combin. I suggest you check the webcam info before taking your ride.
In 2016, Skyway Monte Bianco was used as the setting for an action-adventure of Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
