Christmas time in Como

In the wonderful setting of the lake and mountains, from Nov. 23, 2024 to Jan. 6, 2025, Christmas time in Como awaits you with many attractions, initiatives and events: the illuminated and decorated Christmas tree, the little houses of the market, the ice rink, the merry-go-round of horses, lights, and music.

Like in a fairy village, wandering among the 22 little houses of the market in Perretta Square you can find many gift ideas and buy typical products, handicrafts and gastronomic specialties (without administration) from the province of Como and Lombardy. You will also find items and accessories from other parts of Italy, on a journey through the Lake and Brianza area to Valtellina, Piedmont and Alto Adige.

A large Christmas tree decorates and lights up Cathedral Square.

You can wander among the 22 little houses of the market in Perretta Square and buy local products. If you want to learn more about the City’s sports, cultural and social realities, you can visit the 3 little houses in Grimoldi Square.

In Cavour Square there is the ice skating rink and in Largo Miglio the merry-go-round of horsemen to evoke the atmosphere of times past.

Wandering around the city streets, illuminations and piped music lead you to discover the magical world of Christmas. Christmas lanterns accompany you along the lakeside promenade, evoking the memory of Christmas of yesteryear. **Due to adverse weather conditions on Thursday, December 19, 2024, the installations are temporarily unavailable**

You can also admire the Christmas projections on the monuments: the Broletto with its bell tower, the Teatro Sociale, the former Casa del Fascio, the statue of Alessandro Volta in the square of the same name, Piazza San Fedele, Porta Torre, the Museo Civico, and the Pinacoteca. A play of images and colors that makes the Christmas atmosphere even more magical.

For the little ones, appointment with the enchanting Enchanted Forest at Palazzo Natta, workshops in the Kindergartens and the Municipal Library to have fun while learning.
The parks of Via Beccaria in Ponte Chiasso, Via TraĆ¹ in Tavernola and Via Anzani are also transformed on Saturday afternoon into authentic fairy tale settings.
