PORTO VENERE

This charming village is about a visit, accessible from the Cinque Terre with a maritime service to and from La Spezia with a bus service from the train station, it is surrounded by three small islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto.

Portovenere to Lerici together, one end of the Gulf of Poets, is a site included in the World Heritage List by UNESCO Cultural Heritage. The houses overlooking the bay are very characteristic, tall and narrow facades with strong colors (red and yellow).

On the promontory, a cliff near the castle stands the Church of St. Peter, dating back to the 5th century, built on an ancient Roman temple. From the port of Porto Venere ferries depart daily to the Cinque Terre and the three islands of Palmaria, Tino and Tinetto.
