WHERE IS LOCATED EVERGREEN LODGE?
The Evergreen Lodge is located in the center of Yosemite park, the nearest airport is Oakland (OAK) or San Francisco International Airport. If you rent a car from San Francisco are 3h30 away without traffic, the trip will take you to go through the beautiful Golden Hills of California.
From downtown San Francisco, take I-80 East across the Bay Bridge. After the bridge, merge onto I-580 East. Continue for about 45 miles then merge onto I-205 East towards Tracy / Stockton. At the junction of I-205 East and I-5 North, take CA-120 East and follow signs to Manteca. At Manteca, take CA-99 North and exit immediately to stay on CA-120 East. Continue on CA-120 East to Oakdale (note that CA-120 makes a left-hand turn in the middle of Oakdale). 26 miles beyond Oakdale, turn right at Yosemite Junction and continue on CA-120 East through Groveland. 22 miles beyond Groveland, take a drive on Evergreen Road and continue for 7 miles. We’ll be on the left. Just look for the Big Burl Sign on the left, you can not miss us! Turn left into the lodge and park beside the first building on the right.
I advise you to set the GPS, the campsite is not very well indicated and, above all, being an unlit road in the evening, it is almost impossible to see the sign indicating the turning point. The entrance to the park will be the number 2, ie Big Oak Flat Park Entrance Gate, 20min from the campsite.
TENT OR CABIN?
The Evergreen Lodge offers two types of accommodation, tent or cabin. It all depends on your budget, I personally preferred the tent for economic themes, price € 60 per night/person with breakfast included (breakfast is delicious).
The tents can be for 2, 3 or 4 people, the Family Tent has one queen mattress and two single mattresses. Amenities include sleeping bags & liners, pillows, toiletries, camping chairs, and a lantern. Check-in time is 3:30 PM. Check-out time is 11:00 AM. Sharing Bathroom with body gel, shampoo and hair conditioner included.
The cabins can be 4 people, two bedrooms, living room, and bathroom, comfortable and spacious. With breakfast included prices start at € 120 per night/person.
INDOOR & OUTDOOR SERVICE
Regarding the indoor part of the campsite, we have the Recreation Center, Tuolumne Hall, General Store & Gift Shop.
The Recreation Center is a place to relax and unwind (outside of the tavern). Plush leather couches, chairs, and tables fill this comfortable space, which features a 20 ‘vaulted ceiling and exposed timber posts. An indoor/outdoor fireplace crackles away in evenings and during colder months, and air conditioning cools. For those connected to stay connected, phones, computers, and Wi-Fi.
- Tuolumne Hall offers a variety of activities for guests of all ages, including:
- A parlor game area with pool table, shuffleboard, and foosball
- A fun, colorful toddler play zone
- Board games, game tables, and an arts & crafts area
- Comfortable sitting areas
The campsite has a swimming pool and an outdoor hot tub, open from 10 am to 10 pm, a good way to admire the stars. Remember to bring your swimsuit, as we have a pool and a hot tub open year-round, weather permitting! In case you have forgotten, in the gift shop, they also sell costumes for men, women, and children.
