SOUTH BEACHES

We begin our road trip to the Costa Brava with a classic: Tossa de Mar. Just 20 minutes from the famous Lloret de Mar. it’s a very nice place to stay a weekend, there is a lot of restaurant and bars. If you go to Mar Menuda beach you will find a very nice observation point from where you can admire the city and the castle.

In the city center, there are three beaches, the main one that I discourage if you need to relax. My favorite is Codolar beach is small, quiet, and do not try to sell you anything. Lastly Mar Menuda beach famous for the snorkeling activities that they organize.

CENTER BEACHES

From Barcelona on the AP-7 motorway to exit 9 in Vidreres, direction Sant Feliu de Guixols, Platja d’Aro, Palamós, Palafrugell. Take the Palafrugell Norte / Begur exit and at the roundabout towards Regencós / Begur. The beaches surrounding this area are many but small.

Cala Fornells is very beautiful, other beaches in the area are Cala Aiguablava or Platja Fonda, easy to park close to the beach. Playa Illa Roja is a nudist beach, is a very beautiful beach. If you are looking for Es Cau beach, a swimming pool on the coast, know that it is closed and not accessible at the moment.

NORTH BEACHES

Cadaques is the top destination in Costa Brava. The easternmost town of the mainland of Spain and CataloniaLoved by Dalí, and by other artists such as Picasso and Lorca and only 50km from France, this small town is known in the world and visited by millions of tourists every summer. His beach is quite small but lovely perfect for a day trip.

Cap de Creus is another place you can visit, a beautiful view, if you get to the top without throwing up you will win a prize (it happen sometimes XD). From the lighthouse, you can go down into the coves that you see from above. DO NOT do it in flip-flops if you want to get alive, the water is very cold, pebble beach. There are a lot of beaches (only rocks one) like Cala Tavallera, La Pelosa beach, and Cala Montgó.
